Remembrance Day offers the Church, the honour of leading our nation in acts of reflection and remembrance, for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Each year on Remembrance Sunday it is likely you see an increase in attendance at your in-person gatherings and now  in your online viewing (especially amongst men). The video link is a powerful story of sacrifice that also reminds us of the gospel of Jesus. We want to offer you this FREE resource to use at your service(s) this weekend and online to help share the greatest message of all time with your congregations and visitors.

Remembrance Sunday 2020 Teaser Video

The video is just 5½ minutes long and shares the gospel message of Jesus and includes the story of Edmund De Wind an officer who served during the 1stWorld War.  This is the wording from a newspaper article from 15 May 1919 as his mother received a Victoria Cross for his service and sacrifice:

“For most conspicuous bravery and self-sacrifice on the 21st March 1918, at the Race Course Redoubt, near Grugies. For seven hours he held this most important post, and though twice wounded and practically single-handed, he maintained his position until another section could be got to his help. On two occasions, with two NCO's only, he got out on top under heavy machine gun and rifle fire, and cleared the enemy out of the trench, killing many. He continued to repel attack after attack until he was mortally wounded and collapsed. His valour, self-sacrifice and example were of the highest order.”

Please take this video as our gift to you in these difficult times of uncertainty, and together let’s make message of JESUS known loud!
